Road to Afghanistan by Linda Granfield
This book is about the contrast between WW1 and the Afghan war. It shows the life of soldiers who fought in the Afghan war and WW1. These soldiers are related. What type of soldiers do we have today?
This book relates to a book called Breadwinner because the books have a setting in Afghanistan. It’s sad and lonely just like both of the books said. It was horrible and poor. There was landmines everywhere and people had to be careful when they step because there where landmines. We saw that in both books
Linda Granfield is an award winning author. She has written many books on the topic of Remembrance Day. She goes to libraries and schools to tell young readers every day is Remembrance Day because everyday somebody is fighting for us.
I relate to the book because sometimes I feel like I have to take careful steps in life. Sometimes I make mistakes and I feel like I have to make sure those mistakes are small and not frequent. I look for positivity in my dayly life.
