Harry Potter is about to start his third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry is anxious to get back to school. (If you lived with the Dursleys you would be too.) The Dursleys are terrible, and have been known to put bars on Harry’s window. Harry will be attending school with his best friends, Ron, and Hermione. They are all very excited to see each other at Hogwarts again.
Harry soon comes to know that there is a horrible, unmerciful murderer escaped from Azkaban (the wizarding jail). Terrifying, joyless guards will be guarding the school. Sirius Black, first person ever to escape from Azkaban, hopefully the last, is running loose!
I really like this book because I, like Hermione, love to learn and read books. I have to deal with a lot of siblings, like Ron, although not as many. I think Hogwarts is so cool, and I wish I were a witch.
Joanne Kathleen Rowling was born in July, 1965. This book was published July, 8, 1999. Joanne supports many charitable causes, and she founded Lumos (a charity helping disadvantaged children). She has also written books under the pen name Robert Galbraith. J.K. Rowling has received many awards including: WH Smith Fiction, 2004, Blue Peter Gold Badge, 2007, and countless others. Joanne Kathleen Rowling now lives in Edinburgh with her husband and three children. There are lots more cool facts about her on her blog.
Harry, Ron and Hermione have many intriguing adventures throughout their books.
